For the vast majority of Christians, Jesus, is really Not that big of a deal! He is the founder of the religion they follow, the one they worship on Sundays and if they are very serious they even treat others as different based on the way they look at Jesus BUT He is Not The Game Changer from God that Grace makes Him out to Be! Jesus for most Christians is in a box, opened on Sunday and in times of checking moral behavior BUT He is Not The One Who resurrects them!
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:18-19
Jesus IS the “New Thing” – HE IS the “streams in the wasteland!” – Getting this is crucial to getting Grace!
The children of Israel were continually coming back to being law dependent – time and again. God told them repeatedly it was about Faith and not law but the law prepared them for His Son.
The law or slavery as talked about in Isaiah 43:16-17 is exactly where most of the children of Israel wanted to stay because it was comfortable! They knew the expectations and if they fail they would just burn another sacrifice and it’s all good again.
The same thing exist today – Christians follow the law and when they fail they just say another prayer and it’s all good again! They fail repeatedly because that is Exactly what the law was created to make you do – Fail!
To understand Mega-Christ you have to understand some spiritual concepts put in place by God before the foundations of the world, here is one:
In human failure the Extreme Love, Forgiveness and Healing of God is made whole. The law therefore was designed to make you God dependent and Not self-dependent as many live.
This is the first devotional in a series called “Mega-Christ” that will unlock many of the myths surrounding Jesus and following Him. At the same time by unlocking those myths my hope in doing so is to unlock Who Jesus truly IS and what a difference He makes “by Grace through Faith!” I hope you will decide to follow the series and take an honest and earnest look at Christ, Grace and His Love!
