Why Sunday doesn’t matter?
What day is the most important?
When is the holiest day of the week?
“One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.” – Romans 14:5-6
Each and every moment belongs to the Lord for me and if I miss one He is ok with that- but as soon as I set up one day to be more important than another – I have a religion and not a relationship according to me.
If ritual could have made a difference for your spirituality – then Jesus was a suicide!
That is how I believe, but if you read the passage above you will see that all perspectives have a place in His kingdom.
Because it’s all about the Love!
This passage is basically saying don’t judge anyone because God accepts what He has laid on your heart at this moment – and last time I checked we don’t share hearts.
I don’t really care what you think of me or Sunday or the Easter Bunny for that matter- because it just doesn’t matter. All that matters is that we “Love one another!”
Can you just for a minute imagine what kind of world and what kind of family of God it would create if that was all we focused on- Loving each other despite our differences!
Please find a time and a place where you probably won’t be disturbed and just take a few relaxing deep breaths. With every exhale see if you can release a little more tension from any place that you usually hold onto it. As you get back to regular breathing try to close your eyes and think of someone that believes differently than you. Do you begin to feel your body tensing up a bit? Try to relax again and keep your thoughts on this person if you can and:
Breathe in and say:
“Abba may _________ (person’s name from above)”
Breathe out and say:
“know Your Peace” or “know Your Love” or “know Your Grace”
Practice this until God puts a smile on your face and a song in your heart for this Brother or Sister and you realize that neither of you is right nor wrong – just family! If change needs to be made let God make it – not you – Just Love!
Don’t Worry- Be Grace-Full!!
